Yohan Blake
Yohan Blake is a St Jago High School and Jamaican sprinter of the 100-metre and 200-metre sprint races. He won gold at the 100 m at the 2011 World Championships as the youngest 100 m world champion ever, and a silver medal in the 2012 Olympic Games in London in the 100 m and 200 m races for the Jamaican team.
Blake is the second fastest man ever in both 100 m and 200 m. Together with Tyson Gay, he is the joint second fastest man ever over 100 m with a personal best of 9.69 seconds which he ran on 23 August 2012. Only Usain Bolt has run faster. His personal best for the 200 m (19.26 seconds) is the second fastest time ever after Bolt (19.19 seconds). He holds the Jamaican national junior record for the 100 metres, and was formerly the youngest sprinter to have broken the 10-second barrier (at 19 years, 196 days).
He is coached by Glen Mills and his training partners are Usain Bolt and Daniel Bailey.
Omar Bailey
Omar Bailey is a former St Jago athlete (Class 1989-96) and listed a Boys Champs icon and standout athlete in the 200-metre and 400-metre sprint races. He was the first athlete to win the 400 metre in all classes (I, II, and III) in Boys Championship history. A feat later matched by Calabar’s Christopher Taylor. Mr Bailey also captained the the boys team in 1994. He then went on to further his career at George Mason University in the USA, where he studied Business & Finance.
Ricardo Williams
Recardo Williams is a St Jago High School (Class of 1992-96) Jamaican sprinter who competed primarily in the 200 metres. He represented his country at the 2000 Summer Olympics, as well as two World Championships, in 2001 and 2003. Whilst competing for St Jago he lived up to his name ‘Flash’ as he dominated the boys class 2 and 1 100 & 200 meters at the 1993 and 1994 championship respectively. Flash was an exceptionally talented athlete. He originally ran the 400m prior to attending St Jago, but coach John Cente saw his natural talent and transformed him into a phenomenal sprinter.
Dane Edwards
Dane Edwards is one of the greatest St Jago High School athlete (Class of 1986-1992) who dominated the ISSA Boys Championship during St Jago victory in 1987. He won the double in the 200 & 400m, breaking the record in the heats with a time of 50.24. He finishes 2nd in the 100m and 3rd in the 100m hurdles. Mr Edwards went on and won the class2 100m, 200m & 400m and 400x100m at the 1989 championship one of the only athlete to have achieved this record. Mr Edwards secured a scholarship to Manhattan College where he earned a degree in Accounting. Pecus as he’s well known, is an avid lover of music and during his school years and to this day, continue to play all genre of music as a hobby.
warren Johnson
Warren Johnson is a St Jago High School (Class of 1989-94) and retired Jamaican athlete who competes internationally for Jamaica at several championships. His last result is the 4th place for the men’s 4×100 m relay in the World Championships 1995. He competes in 4×100 m relay. The alias name, Pretty came about because of his fluency and beauty whilst running. He ran effortlessly, particularly when competing in the 200m. He contributed to St Jago 1993 victory by taking the double in the class 1 100 & 200m at those championships; and what Mr Bobby Frae would describe as a fantabulous leg on boys 4x400m relay which gave St Jago victory over Calabar.
Bertland Bert Cameron
Bertland “Bert” Cameron
Bertland Cameron is a St Jago High School and retired Jamaican sprinter who mainly competed over 400 metres. He represented Jamaica at three consecutive editions of the Summer Olympics. Cameron won the 400 m title at the first World Championships in Athletics. He was also the 1982 Commonwealth Games champion in the event and won a number of gold medals at regional competitions. He helped the Jamaican runners to a silver medal in the 4×400 metres relay at the 1988 Seoul Olympics.
He carried the Jamaican flag at the opening ceremony of the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles, California. He was chosen as the Jamaica Sportsperson of the year three times consecutively from 1981 to 1983. He is currently a coach in Jamaica.

Donovan Best Powell
Donovan Powell is a former St Jago Athlete who also represented Jamaica as a sprinter specialising in the 60 metres and 100 metres events. He is the brother of Asafa Powell, a former 100 m world record holder. If we speak of St Jago champions, then no better man than Best. As the name states, he was the best at what he does. No one trained and worked as hard as the great Donovan Powell. At the 1990 Boys Champs Powell blasted the 100m record in the semi-finals by running 10.47s and went on to win the finals. He also won the 200m finals beating his rival Daniel England, which was one of the most spectacular event in ISSA’s Champions history.

Michael "Gong" William
Michael Williams former St Jago distance runner, who was on the 1987 winning team. He was a power runner but also a very strategic runner, hence why he was so successful and dominant at his events. He won the class 2 800 & 1500m at the 1988 championship. Prior year he came second in the 1500m, however, in 1989 he went on and won the 1500m and a close second in the 800m. His alias Gong, echoes the sound and presence of this young school boy when he runs. He was fearless, determine, tenacious and confident about winning. He leaves a spirit and legacy for many runners at St Jago High, one that inspires and empowers younger athletes, when they hear the name “Gong”. He went on to represent Manhattan College in New York, where he was admitted to their Hall of Fame for his continuous and successful performance for the college.
Peta Gaye Dowdie
Peta-Gaye Dowdie is a St Jago High School and Jamaican sprinter. As a member of the Jamaican sprint relay team she won a bronze medal at the 1999 World Championships and gold medals at the 2006 Commonwealth Games and 2007 Pan American Games. Dowdie ran track collegiately at Louisiana State University

Juliet Jean Campbell is a St Jago High School and retired Jamaican sprinter, who specialized in the 200 and 400 metres. She also competed on the successful Jamaican team in both 4 × 100 m and 4 × 400 m relay
